You are cordially invited for the 10th Jubilee International Congress of Vascular Dementia (ICVD) which will be held in Gdansk, Poland, 11-13th May 2017, following almost 20 years history of these meetings.
ICVD 2017 will offer the possibility to show new developments and share our views on cerebrovascular diseases in terms of dementia, depression, behaviour and their relationship with neuroimaging, neuropathology and risk factors.
The Congress will be a platform for inter-disciplinary discussions between neurologists, psychiatrists, geriatricians, neuropsychologists, basic scientists and all interested in the spectrum of vascular and neurodegenerative diseases which are closely related. The best example of such overlap is Alzheimer's disease but vascular burden is discussed in Parkinson's disease, depression and other disorders.
The neuropathology features of dementia, experimental animal models, and new understanding of pathogenic mechanisms, particularly inflammation, will all be highlighted at the Congress.
New therapeutic options, including drugs as well as diet and nutritional therapy, will be discussed.
We invite you to submit an abstract for the Congress and thereby contribute to what we are confident will be yet another exciting scientific programme.
Gdansk, with its 1000 years history, is an attractive destination and is a good example of collaboration of several nations, which used to live here for years. Gdansk history as a "City of Freedom" is exciting with the "Solidarity" movement birthplace in 1980, which was a trigger point to Eastern Europe Spring several years later. The city, with its beautifully restored Old Town, where the Congress will be held, will give you memorable experience. We hope it will result in new friendships and scientific collaborations as well.
We look forward to welcoming you to Gdansk!
